Winter Wolf Safari
A new three-day adventure completely focusing on wolf tracking and searching. The best time of year to track wolves is January to March when the ground is snow-covered and we have a chance to see wolves running over frozen lakes.
In winter, wolf cubs have grown to full size and hunt independently. That means that there is a good deal of activity in the wolf territory. For a few intensive days and nights, we devote a lot of time to tracking and searching for wolves and other wildlife. Our experienced guides take you to strategic places where the chances to see the animals are greatest.
Our tour is carried out in cooperation with scientists from Grimsö Wildlife Research Station, Sweden's leading centre for research on lynx, bear and wolf among other species. On the tour we visit Grimsö, where we meet a wolf expert with many years’ in-the-field experience of the Scandinavian wolf population.
An exclusive lecture will give us facts followed by a discussion of pros and cons and we are treated to accounts from the intensive research work. We then set off to track and search in the nearby wolf territory.
