Moose safari
Bergslagen has among Sweden's greatest concentrations of wildlife areas, where the king of the forest, the moose lives in its natural state. We issue a moose guarantee and often see a lot of moose and other animals during a trip. Let our experienced guides take you on a journey into the moose world, a unique chance to meet these majestic beasts in the wild.
At dusk the forest comes to life and the moose gets up after his rest to look for food. We walk together on the animals' own trails, which lead into the dense forest and make our way to the moose living room. Our tour guides have a special fondness for this magnificent animal, and with great dedication they pass on their knowledge of moose life. They also demonstrate how we can communicate with moose in different situations using lure call and signals – something that may come in handy during the evening ...
In anticipation of the evening’s moose encounter we light a fire and help prepare dinner, which we eat at the campfire. Then we head out on foot into moose country and perhaps travel short distances by minibus for reconnaissance at dusk. On this guided tour we have good chances to see moose, deer, beaver and hare, as well as rarer animals such as wolves and lynx.

Date: This tour is offered on fixed dates from May to October.
Time and place: Evening tour at around 17-23 depending on the season. The tour starts in Kolarbyn which is 3 km outside Skinnskatteberg. Skinnskatteberg is easily reached by train, then on by bus.
Price includes: Guided tour and wilderness dinner.
Other info: Recommended minimum age of 12. Participants should be capable of walking without problem in the forest. We hike on trails and terrain for 1-3 hours with many breaks. Difficulty: Easy / medium. We recommend that you bring weatherproof clothing and shoes for walking, warm clothes for cold nights, a torch, camera, binoculars, water bottle and snacks.
