Wonderful combination of paddling and hunting

Oskar Hederyd at the Canoe Adventure North company combines paddling with hunting. For the past 8 years, he has been hiring out and selling canoes and other equipment for outdoor activities at Kängsön outside Luleå in Norrbotten.

Oskar also organizes canoeing trips on rivers and lakes in Norrbotten, and is currently adding hunting in Överkalix to the activities on offer.

He is currently expanding activities by taking out a hunting lease on 3,100 hectares of Sveaskog land in the Marsberget-Kopparheden area in Överkalix.

“Leasing hunting land is an important complement to the activities currently on offer. The hunting starts where the paddling ends and, this way, I get a longer season and more strings to my bow,” says Oskar.

Oskar is also making plans to include activities such as wildlife tracking of bears and elk as well as wilderness paddling. Investing in a couple of cottages for the leased area is also on the cards.

The company's customers come from different parts of Sweden, and Oskar would like to encourage more foreign guests to come further north and have a go at paddling and hunting in the beautiful natural environment.
